is an emotional, mental and physical growth journey, not an overnight success story. Easier said than accepted, I know, but it's true. At least, for those who no longer struggle with their weight. It's a complete transformation, inside and out. Now, please, don't get overwhelmed. That's not the goal here. My goal is to point this out so you can give yourself full permission to take the urgency out of your weight loss journey, give yourself all the time you need and made space for the evolution of 'you', learning to lean in and love the entirety of the process. This is how you get long term, effortless, sustainable weight loss results.
As much as we LOVE fast results and instant gratification, quick fixes generally don’t stick in the long run. It's really those slow paced, intentional steps towards our potential where our power lies. Your weight loss potential is, if you allow it to be, is a beautiful journey. Most of us don't see it this way, but what if you did? What if you just paused for a moment and decided this was going to be fun, exciting or inspiring? In order to see things this way, it takes a mental shift, an awareness and acceptance to what actually is in the moment (resistance is the enemy of progress), and then surrender. Create a vision and a plan to make progress. Become intentional and clear. I know. Often times, easier said than done, but nonetheless possible. Honestly, people do it all the time, why not you?! Seriously, what if you considered you could NEVER struggle with weight loss and food again? Giving yourself permission to think outside your current mental box. I believe in you, because I know for a fact it's possible! I struggled with my body, my weight and my self confidence for most of my adult life. Once I started practicing believing new things, accepted what was possible for even me ( a girl who had struggled with an eating disorder for a decade, thought she 'broke her body', obsessed about food, didn't understand balance, hyper focused on perfectionism, constantly spinning in limiting belief)one day, it clicked, my body changed and so did my health.
Most of us don’t anticipate, with joy, our individual potential when it comes to our health, wellness and fitness goals. Instead what most of us do is compare ourselves to others’ results, beating ourselves up for not looking the same, not having the curves in all the right places, or telling ourselves we just don’t have that ‘miracle workout’ routine like her, or her amazing genes or judge ourselves for not having the same commitment.
What if you took a step back. Decided to go all in on your individual, unique potential, because no two body’s or journeys are ever going to be the same, and made a plan to show up for yourself today to start to step into YOUR potential. Not tomorrow, not next month, or next year. One small step. One small habit you want to start practicing today to improve your health. And then committing to it tomorrow. And then the next. Committing without rushing yourself, but doing so with a clear plan of action so that one year from now you can blow your own mind and look back in awe at the woman you've transformed into. You're incredible, beautiful and worthy already, but just imagine your potential, your untapped capacity and how fun and beautiful that journey could be...
This month we are tapping into our weight loss potential by diving into the concept of dating our body’s in my coaching program. We are learning the art of dating oneself and how this concept of respecting and loving oneself will actually make space for a naturally healthy fit woman. "When we change the way we treat ourselves, the way we see ourselves changes." We also talk ‘fats’ and how to utilize the ‘right’ fats for maximum weight loss results. It's not about demonizing food, but, yes, some fats make weight loss easier and maximize our health as well.
